Democratic Republic of Congo

Children are so resilient. Aren’t they?

We have all heard stories in the media of children surviving horrific circumstances – almost at any cost. But it is exactly those human costs that were a major concern for WarTrauma Foundation and the Salvation Army DR Congo.

Our joint training programme aims to increase resilience, psychosocial recovery and wellbeing of children, teachers and parents. Because children do cope with the impact of violence, but need help to learn to find their strengths, opportunities for healing, healthy relationships and fruitful work. Increasing wellbeing and resilience means hope may be restored.
