Leonardo da Vinci project: second workshop held

The second workshop of the Leonardo da Vinci project was held in Copenhagen, June 28 -30 2011, with War Trauma Foundation staff members Leslie Snider and Linda van Dommelen present. The project was set up to develop a guidebook for the EU on the training of lay-counsellors to provide psychosocial support. In the four months prior to this workshop, all partner organisations gathered as much information as possible on the current training available for lay-counsellors in Europe. During the second workshop, this information was compiled and analysed. Since then, the writing process has begun. The three workshop days were considered by all to be very inspiring, with intense debate on the contents of the material. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Denmark will now take the lead in developing the first draft version of the guidebook in the upcoming months.
