In Chad, WarTrauma Foundation provided mhGAP (mental health Global Action Programme) training in partnership with UNHCR. A common problem in low resource countries is the lack of mental health professionals.

Except for one local psychologist, who assisted WarTrauma in providing the mhGAP-HIG training, there are no professional mental health specialists in Chad. Therefore only clinical and non-clinical staff were trained.

Because there was no professional staff to be trained, more clinical and non-clinical staff could be trained: leading to a bigger impact on community level. A total of 50 clinical and 58 non-clinical staff were trained in Chad. WarTrauma will return in 2016 for another round of trainings.
